Yeah, the price is about right - brand new they're fetching 11K base, so I think that's a fair price given the state. Definitely test it out and see how it does. Insurance is another matter - who do you have? It sounds like a rip off. My 2001 Rio was never even close to that, and I was only 20 when I bought it - so do the math... young male driver, new car... yeah anyway...
My mom has a 2005 Rio, and loves it. Absolutely no real problems (the gas guage thing in this forum is the only thing, but that's a minor problem). My 2001 gave me zero issues until the day I traded it in for my Sorento. I hated to have lost it in the trade. I really liked it. If I ever went back to a sedan, it would probably be a Rio. They're comfortable, and despite people who like Hondas, a big guy like myself can get in and out of the Rio easier than Honda or anything else.
