Hi, i have a kio rio 2001 rs the temperature gauge is going to hot but the car does not stall or steam, the fan work, fuses are good, preston in the radiator and also in reservoir. When i open the hood the motor does not feel hot. When i was driving the gauge when back to normal then back to hot when i stop at a light went back down. If anybody that happen to them also please replies to this message thanks.

chekc the water pump?? that's what was wrong with my old geo tracker... might wanna try that.. :-P.. dont know if it will help or not..

Check your fan. Make sure it is turning.

could be a weak ground on the temperature sensor.
they use a negative resistance setup.

does it go hot right when you turn on the car? or after a while. if right away, then sensor could be screwed. if after a while, check thermostat or water pump (when changing water pump, change timing belt at the same time, and make sure all gears are cleaned up good! )

yes same proble, had water pump, thermostat and all checked. New timing belt etc doen.
They have no idea why this happens.
It goes hot then back to normal,still no closer to an answer.
