Rear Seat Removal

I am trying to figure out how to remove the rear seat (top portion). I see that it has a hook holding it in, so removal should be fairly simple, though it is giving me some trouble. Are there any tricks that I should know about? It is a 2001 Rio.

depends, you looking to be able to put the top part back in it?

Rear seat removal is done by removing two screws holding the lower seat cushion in, removing the lower seat, removing three screws holding the top seat cushion in, and lifting that upwards.

Remove bolts below the lower cushion, and remove the lower cushion. Remove the bolts visible once the lower cushion is removed and lift the upper cushion off.
