Overheating

Just replaced the thermostat in my 04 Kia Rio less than 3weeks ago was driving good till bottom radiator hose blew a hole. So replaced that hose and a couple days later i noticed my car wasn't running good. The temp gauge normally sits at half way mark but never goes over and the fan would kick on . Anyways I noticed the fan wasn't kicking on and temp would get to the halfway mark alot faster then it normally would but then drop temp while freeway driving but as soon as I had to stop it would go back to halfway mark and start streaming and fan wouldn't kick on.i replaced the coolent sensor today and now as soon as I turn the car on after it sitting there for 4days not running my temp gauge spikes to half way immediately and radiator area steams as if it's hot. Fan still dont turn on tho. I let car idle a couple mins and temp then shot up to almost hot in just a couple mins of idling. I can see the coolent flowing in the radiator but I have no idea what the heck is causing it to overheat in minutes and not have my fan kick on

Did it overheat at any point?

What is meant by "i noticed my car wasn't running good" ?

Does your car have a thermal switch for the fan, and a separate temp sensor for the gauge?

A thermostat that has a good "shut-off" will cause the engine temperature to reach normal operating temp very quickly - that is normal and desired, but if the car is not moving and the fan is not coming on when it should, the temperature would go way over.
"temp gauge spikes to half way immediately" - that's normal.

"radiator area steams as if it's hot" - there must be a leak if that's happening, and a leak will mean that the system cannot build pressure as it should.

Looks like your only issue is the fan controls, ....... unless it overheated, and once is all it takes to cause a blown head gasket.

Sorry if I've missed any points, but its very difficult to follow with the lack of punctuation.

No it has never over heated. We tested the plugs for the fan and they all worked when we connected it to the battery. I didn't know the temp going to half way immediately was normal when the car is freezing cold. When I first put the thermostat in it would take a while before the gauge would start moving that's why I don't understand why it dosent do that now. The fan thing is annoying cause it works but dosent turn on.

If the temp gauge goes straight to normal with just turning on the ignition switch, then of course the "new" temp sensor is the wrong type or faulty.

It says its for my car so I guess that's faulty then. My husband said to take the thermostat out and boil it to see if it is stuck shut if it is would this cause some of the problem
