Default Valve Cover Gasket

How often should the valve cover gasket be replaced and how much should it cost?

another way is when you change plugs because it's running bad and a plug has oil on it, the sporty will shudder a little. if there is no oil leaking anywhere and no oil on any plugs when changed the gasket need not be changed, would you change it yourself ? if so I would use OEM Kia part or a FelPro gasket other gaskets most of the time are cheap thinner ones that don't seal right. a FelPro gasket is about $25 or less then you need sealant for all the corners of the cams, best one is Ultra Grey, the kiatechinfo.com site shows how.

It's not too hard of a job to pull off, just work carefully, stay organized, and remember where things go. It's a good idea to replace your spark plugs (if they're old/show signs of wear) and check the plug wires/coil packs for damage/wear while you're at it.

If it's not broke, don't fix it. A v/c gastet is not maintance. An OEM Kia gasket is $23.00 USD. A shop would charge you 1 hour labor to replace it.
