Default Serious help needed!!!

Hi there

First of i would like to say thank you for any help in advance, ad great forum!

I have a Kia sportage 2.0 XSE 2003 registration and suprise suprise the head gasket went, i was not goign to spend £1000s on getting a main stealer to do it so i have done it myself, all has gone well all back together EXCEPT i have 3 sockets/plugs that i can not for the life of me find where they go!!!

I have tried starting her and she turns over happily but just wont fire into life, very similar sound if i had removed all the spark plugs, happily turns over but no fire!

Here are some picture of the said plugs

Number 1 ) This one sits behind the engine at the back of the engine bay and is in the loop that has the leads to the psrk plugs

Number 2 ) This one is off the heat sheild of the exhaust manifold

Number 3 ) And this one is hiding, i know its a it blurry but it is hiding behind and above the oil filter it the white plug just below the black pipe running horizonitally!!

If any can help me out as i cant find where these plugs go you will be absolute life savers, i just dont have the money to put this through dealer tht is why i done myself, if anyone can help it would be greatly appreciated!!!

Many Thanks
Jake

#2 is o2 sensor and the other end should be next to the firewall near the tranny bump is. You could also follow the wire from the post cat. coverter o2 sensor the plugs end up near the same location

#1 = Don't know
# 2 = O2 sensor
#3 = Looks like the connector for the oil pressure unit.

None of these connectors being disconnected should prevent it from starting.

I see I have quite a lot of photo's of the engine bay and connections etc in my manual - that particular bit is one and half megabytes long but should email ok - send me an email address and will try it if you want or you can buy the cd off me as have a few copies of it that I bought as job lot from a closing dealer over here. I also have it on ebay (item: 260387614812), if its easier.

the first one goes to a condenser/capacitor that is bolted to the back of the head. that wire goes to the other side of the capacitor. it's possible that you forgot to put the capacitor back onto the back of the head before you put it back on. having it unhooked wouldn't cause it not to start but you should hook it up to avoid future problems with the ignition system.

the second one is for the o2 sensor. it should connect to a connector around the firewall.

the third one is the knock sensor. this wouldn't cause it not to run either. it would run but it probably wouldn't run good because the knock sensor retards and advances the ecu ignition timing to minimize engine knock.

what's your cylinder compression readings look like on all 4 cylinders? did you have the cam sprockets off of the cams at any time?
