Default dash lights on...wont crank

I have a 2000 kia sportage, manual, 2wd. I went to work one day, she was running just fine, i go to leave to head home, turn the key and nothing happens. my radio and all my lights come on but it wont crank, like the battery is dead. it happend once before and after trying to push start it (sounded like i almost dropped the tranny doing that) i disconnected the battery to reset the computer and she started right up. this time around i havent tried to push start (small parking lot) but resetting the computer didnt work. i can hear a clicking sound when i turn the key. anyone have any advice?

This may sound stupid but make sure your floor mat isn't shoved up under your clutch pedal. I've done it and looked really stupid, And that's how I bought my Nissan Sentra for 25 bucks back in the day. Otherwise make sure your battery terminals are really clean and the isnt any corrosion under the insulation.

If you hear clicking that may mean that the battery is discharged enough that it won't crank. Try a jump start, and also clean the battery connections like bryanse said.
