Default 98 Sportage

Well I now have my 98 Sportage that I recently aquired at home.
Battery on charger so I can try and find problem.
It was overheating-heater transfer pipe leaking-found that quickly and apparently blowing smoke-not sure of colour-vaguely blue/gray.

No water in oil and no oil in water- no documentation on service- done 152,000 ks and previous doesnt know if belts changed

Is there somewhere I can find how to do engine codes

Thanks

Do you already know what the codes are or do you need to get them out of the computer?

I'm not sure if it's the same in Aus, but in the US parts stores like AutoZone will read the ECU error codes free of charge.

You could also buy a code reader - try online shopping (eBay etc.) for these.
