Default Weak blower

Hello,

Went for a ride in a -00 Sportage today and think about buying it. But I think the blower was noicy and really weak. Took some time to get the mist from the windows and as I live in Sweden, heat is of utterly importance during the winter.

The car was not fitted with AC.

Is the blower just weak or is it just tired and should be replaced?

Happy for any help I can get

probably just weak, however alot of times with KIAs things fall from the dash and get stuck in the heater box. Best thing to do is remove the blower motor and see if there is anything visible there (napkin, reciept). The other hting it could be is if it has a cabin air filter. The cabin air filter could be clogged restricting airflow comming into the vehicle.

I have a 99 sportage and although we live in Florida, I got up early a few mornings ago and had to turn on the heater and defroster. I was quit impressed with how quickly the car heated up and cleared off the windshield. So if yours is not working properly check the motor, fan and ductwork as Eskort27 said.

A little noisy, but not too bad. Of course the last car I drove was a Ford F150 truck, so I might not be the best judge of that.

I can tell you about debris getting in the fan for sure... It is a quick check and fix if there is anything. Three bolts and an electrical connector and its out. Drops right out where your passengers toes would be.

If it happens to be your problem, you will see a marked improvement getting debris out of there.
