Default window regulator assm.

Okay, so I need to replace the window regulator assembly on the driver side of a 2001 sportage. the dealer wants close to 300 dollars. I'm going to probably get one off of ebay but I was hoping to find out what years would fit that particular year.. like 98 to 02 or something maybe?

Mine cost about $125 for the assembly and took about 1 hour to r&r. Check with the dealer again to make sure their not adding the window too.

repairing them is a nightmare, the wire is wound so tight its almost impossible to fit without damaging something.
I would not waste time trying as a new one is not that expensive especially the later one is about half the price of the early one.
there are 2 sorts of reg, up to about august 99 and later, they will both fit any model but need adaptation if you have the wrong one.
the difference is in the lower bracket the earlier on is wider that the later and you can make an adapter to fit. the wider one you can redrill the holes.

Yeah, I've got it ghetto rigged right now with the one good cable until I can get the replacement in. Definitely not getting the one from the dealer. The quote was for the regulator assembly, no install (not that it's really hard, with my impact wrench and all..).
There's one for half that from an ebay dealer and they've got pretty good feedback so i'll probrobly be getting one from them.
