Default 99 Sportage recall

I found this on the internet about my 99 Kia Sportage.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Component: Electrical System: Wiring

Defect Summary: VEHICLE DESCRIPTION: SPORT UTILITY VEHICLES. THE WIRES CONNECTED TO THE C123 AND C124 CONNECTORS CAN BE PUT UNDER TENSION BY MOVEMENT OF THE ENGINE, THUS PULLING THE WIRES AND CONNECTORS, LOOSENING THEM AND RESULTING IN A LOSS OF CIRCUIT CONTINUITY.

Consequence Summary: THIS CONDITION CAN CAUSE ENGINE STALLING, INCREASING THE RISK OF A CRASH.

Corrective Summary: DEALERS WILL INSTALL SPRING CLIPS TO LOCK THE CONNECTORS TOGETHER. IN ADDITION, THE DEALERS WILL BE INSTRUCTED TO SOLDER A SPLICE IN THE WIRE HARNESS.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
I have a call into my nearest Kia dealer about this and they are supposed to call me back. Should be interesting to hear what they say.

After about 4 hours they called back and said they needed the VIN number. I gave it to them and about half an hour later they said that VIN number only had a recall on the Seat Belt buckle. I think I will try a different Kia dealer in a different city and see what they say.

ENN002 - Vibration

Subject Safety Recall: Engine Wire Harness C123/C124 Connectors (SC014)
Description This bulletin provides information related to a recall on 1997-1999 Sportage models for a potential stalling condition. Some 1997, 1998, and 1999 Sportage models may have poor pin terminal contact in engine/injector harness C123/C124 connectors. Poor pin terminal contact in these connectors could result in interrupted sensor/component signals to and from the ECM. If poor pin terminal contact occurs, the engine could stall which could cause a loss of vehicle power and result in an accident.

To correct this situation, Kia is recalling affected 1997-1999 Sportage models to tighten C123/C124 pin terminals, apply Stabilant 22A to the terminals, and install spring clips on the connectors to hold the connector halves tightly together.

In addition, the S116 sensor splice in the injector harness will be soldered to ensure maximum sensor circuit integrity.

call them back and give them the campaign number so they can look it up.

Sounds like my problem alright, and problems others are having on here too, but I think they are going to say SOME Kia's are affected, but not mine. That's why they ask for the VIN number.

I am going to call three or four Kia dealers and see if I get one that will do the recall on my Kia.
