Default 1995 Kia Sportage Help

Hello Everyone,

I have a 1995 Kia Sportage 4x4 and it idles funny. It sounds like a low rpm sputter. I bought new plugs, wires, mass air flow sensor, o2 sensors.

I'm debating on replacing the time belt, do you have any ideas before I do that? Anything I could check? I figured I would ask the experts!

Where is the Idle Air Valve located at? I read in a post I should clean that.

ALSO... I have a small tank right behind my left head light ( If you are standing in front of it) I noticed it was hanging down. What is it and What does it do?

Thanks!
Kimchi

As above just replace the belt.... Cost me 125 canadian for the kit with the belt and 2 pulleys....

I did notice the instructions it came with show that everywhere in the states other than california they recomend checking at 60,000 miles and replace at 109, but california is just a replace at 60. Canada is the same as california... my only guess for canada would be hot and cold extremes however for california it soesn't make much sense.....

There are three sensors connected to the air flow system. Over by the air filter is the mass air flow sensor, then in the middle, connected to the metal pipe, is the IAC and then on the left, connected to the throttle plates is the Throttle position indicator.

My book on my 99 Sportage says just the opposite on the timing belt. It says change every 60 thousand miles unless you are in CA, then check at 60K and 90K and replace at 105K.
