Default Auto Tranny fixer upper

My 99 Sportage has been shifting a little rough so I checked the level and it looked like it was about 1 Qt OVER. I drained a quart and rechecked, now it is just up to the first mark. I added a pint of Sea Foam Tranny Tune and topped it off with Dextron II fluid and already it is shifting better.

I swear by Sea Foam Tranny fixer. My previous truck would hardly shift at all and the repair shop said I needed to rebuilt the tranny for $1,500.00 I said thank you very much and put a pint of Sea foam in instead. That was four years ago and I have never had any more problem with the transmission. I hope I get equal results with my Kia. So far it seems to be working fantastic.

Never had the opportunity to use the stuff. Mainly because I never see it anywhere.

Advanced and Autozone don't have it here, but I found it at our NAPA auto store.

Funny, that. I rarely go into NAPA; it's usually the most expensive place to get parts and has the cheapest tools.

Thumbs up

Well now you have a reason to go there. LOL. I usually go to Autozone or Advanced. We live in a very small town so we don't have a lot of places to go for parts. I don't remember why I went to NAPA. I think someone told me to go there and get the Seafoam when I started having tranny troubles with my old Ford F150. In any case, the Sea Foam has worked good for me - twice.

The directions say to put it in and drive it for five miles before your next transmission flush. The guy who told me about it said just to leave it in, so I did - for 4 years.

The product is made by the Sea Foam company. Don't ask me what what has to do with cars. LOL. The name of the product is Transmission Tune. It is supposed to clean the varnish and crap out of your transmission and make it shift better. The directions say to put it in and run the car for five minutes before changing the fluid. The mechanic that recommended it to me said you could just leave it in and that's what I did.

I got mine at the NAPA auto parts store. Hope you can find it and hope it fixes your problem.

i'd rather go to a napa or carquest over an autozone or advance any day. carquests and napas are more mechanic oriented and autozones and advances are for your average car maintenance person. when i go to autozone for something, they usually have to order it but when i go to a carquest or napa they have it in stock. plus i get a discount at carquest!

seafoam is a great product and i swear by it.
