Default cancelling dinger thinger

I have located the idiotic bell that drives you mad when you have the key in the ignition and the door open etc., it is behind the glovebox.
However it is in what looks like an electronic control box and has a connection loom with about 20 wires on it.
Which one do I cut, and is it a bad idea to simply cut it? Can any problems crop up?
Thanks.

Sorta like in the movies when they're going to defuse an A bomb, which wire do I cut the Red one or the Green one. I know this is no help but I couldn't resist the remark. Here's hoping someone else knows.

I have noticed a small grill, maybe an inch and a quarter in diameter up by the defroster vent. It's too small for a speaker and I thought that might be the source of the various dings and stuff. If so, maybe you could disconnect that.

When my truck was a couple of weeks old my dad and I went in and tried to disconnect my trucks little dinger. We unplugged the card entirely and when we turned on the ignition the airbag light flashed an error if I recall correctly. We plugged it back in and everything went back to normal.

As a "temporary" measure we jammed plastic from a plastic bag into the hole in the dinger to muffle it a bit. Taping over it probably would have worked better, but you do with what you have at the moment. I haven't gone back in yet.

My concern was keeping the dinger from going off when I hopped out of the truck in the bush with the keys still in. A better solution was to actually pull out the door switch and wrap the contact in electricians tape. The switch activates by grounding against the body and the tape prevents it. Each switch is held in by a single screw. I think it hinders the effectiveness of the anti-theft system however so I only do it when I'm out in the bush for extended periods.

As for the mesh bubbles on the dash, those are speakers for the stereo. They only play the really high frequencies.

if you can find the speaker for the chime you could just take the speaker out but leave everything else there.

The speaker was soldered to a circuit board. When we pulled the whole board out the airbag light issue happened. If I ever get around to taking out those stupid airbags then maybe I'll revisit the issue.

Default I have an Idea

Why don't they make those annoying chimes some sexy voice. "hey sexy your lights are on" "hey hun please shut the door" I was an air force fighter technician and the warnings were a sexy voice one would say altitude in a deep sexy voice I cant remember the other warnings but I bet with so many women pilots today they took the sexy voice out.
