Default overheating i think? maybe it just runs a lil warm?

hey my 98 2.0 4x4 auto is moving a little over the half way mark on the temp gauge with the AC on in 90+ degree weather. Is this normal? It usually stays right below the half way mark with out ac on. Since it was going over the half way mark just a bit i installed a new thermostat and radiator, still does the same thing. done a compression test and each cylinder is hittin over 120. Also sometimes when i shut it off after a lot of driving its blowing steam and hot air in the overflow causing it to boil occasionally? so does the kia just normally run with the temp gauge like that? Car is running fine, no check engine light or anything. Should i go ahead and change the water pump? any suggestions?

I would, but first I'd try a full system flush. It's never good when an engine pukes coolant and steam after shutdown.

i think i just had to much antifreeze in it, since some came out and into the overflow the temp gauge never touches the half way mark with the ac on. anyone know the exact amount of antifreeze to put in a radiator?
