Default Lift Kit for 01 Sportage 2 door?

I have an 01 Sportage 2 door convertible and I'd like to lift it maybe 2 inches to add larger wheels and tires. So I guess I have 2 questions, do I lift the body or suspension? and is there a kit available for this or can I make it?

I have an 02 Conv and would not recommend doing that -- the problem is that with such a short wheelbase to start with, if you raise the center of gravity too high you increase the risk of loss of control and a roll-over. However, if you are mainly interested in looks/appearance and only putt around the city at slower speeds, then I guess control would not really be a huge issue. On the other hand, if you live where it snows in the winter time (like I do), then you will likely regret having done so when you try to control the vehicle in adverse conditions.

Based on my own vehicle, I'd guess you could go up a few sizes in tires without having to worry about any clearance issues and get the same effect -- in other words, if I were you, I'd just spend my money on larger tires and perhaps wider/offset rims, and forget about dicking around with the suspension... unless money is no object here.

Default thankyou harry

I'm really just looking to increase the tire size a little.I know roll over is always a danger as is, let alone raising it. Wasn't sure what I could fit in the allowed clearance. I'm from the Boston area so yes snow is a factor. thank you harry for the feed back.
