Question AutoMechanical hubs installed, 2 1/2 questions!

OK, so I installed the Automechanical hubs from Warn. They were twice the price but I would rather have the 4WD instantly when I need it. No getting out to lock the hubs in a foot of snow.

It's a 2002, 4dr, automatic by the way.

Question 1: What is the best way to seal off the vacuum post/nipple (what ever it is called) on the back of the wheel?

I have the vacuum line there currently but since I know it will eventually crack I would rather have a more permenant solution.

1/2 Question: Is there a typical hardware item I might be able to pick up locally or even make to seal off the vacuum nipple at the wheel?

Question 2: Is anyone aware if the Automechanical hubs from Warn require you to back up the vehicle to disengage 4WD?

P.S. The 4WD seams to be working really well, I am waiting for the rain to make the ground really soft so I can go try it out.

my OEM auto-mechs dont require backing up. just shift out of 4wd, and lift the throttle and you can feel them unlock.

Thanks, I know it may seem like just an annoyance to have to back up to disengage the hubs but I have been in a few situations where there wasn't a safe way to back up and had to drive quite a ways before unlocking the hubs. I am really happy to know the hubs will disengage automatically.
