Help me figure this one out....please!
Hey everyone,
Well my fiance and I just purchased a 95 sportage as a second car for her to use. Only problem is the check engine light started popping on and off. Naturally we took it to get it diagnosed and they told us it was sending out a code 34 and 56-both of which are idle speed control valve codes. They told us that the readings on the ohm-meter were sure enough bad and that it needed to be replaced so we did. Well its still happening!! I tried resetting it all the ways I could think of but nothing worked it continues to come on and off!!
OK so heres the other problem we've been seeing-the car will either downshift at higher speeds or refuse to shift. Example we're on the highway going 65 at around 3000 rpms and all of the sudden they just jump to 4500 or so. I'm thinking it has something the do with the original problem with the ISC valve.
Any suggestions? I was thinking of replacing the TPS valve and seeing if that does the trick but I wanted to see what you guys thought first.
Thanks
