Default Diagnostics Port

Hi

The CEL came on about 1 week ago. No change in performance whatsoever, but figure I should work out what the fault is. I'm RHD in the UK. I figure my '00 Sporty is OBDI as I can find no diagnostics port to either side of the centre console/transmission in the car. In the engine compartment, just in front of the battery, is a covered port labelled 'Diagnostics'. However, the terminals are not identified. Which of these terminals is ENG TEST? Which is ground? Anyone got a labelled pic? Thanks, Ian.

Have another look for the obdii socket under the dash by the centre console, it should be on a bracket at the bottom edge of the dash but don't asume it will be, mine was tucked between the carpet and the heater right in the centre of the console. It was an ex demo car and only assume it had been taken off the bracket and pushed out of the way at sometime.

Thanks - no there is no port there. But, then, there are very few aspects of this car's wiring that is where it's supposed to be! I'll let you know what happens when I read the codes over the next few days.
