Fuel problem maybe ??????

I have a 2000 sportage that runs and idles good but when it gets to about 2000rpms is is like it is not getting any fuel it just falls flat. does not die completly but will not rev up or pull in gear at all if you give it gas. Any Ideas
changed the plugs but did no good. Thanks

One more thing washed the motor off a little while before this happend. Could the throttle position sensor be bad or just wet.

This one is fixed got a buddies Kia and started switching parts. TPS first no go. then Mass air flow. nothing there crawled under and pulled the catilitic converter off BINGO Revd up and cleared out good. Took it to the muffler shop and she runs like new. Hope this helps some one with the same problem.
