Default PO343 camshaft position sensor bank 1 high input

Got a 2002 Kia Sportage 4WD 5-speed with this PO343 code. No power, misses at idle but no misfire codes, when you crack the throttle it stops misfiring but it still has no power. Any hints? I really don't wan't to have to pay $130 for a new sensor and that not be the problem.

Timing belt! http://www.kia-forums.com/do-yoursel...s-finally.html

The cams/crank are out of alignment, thats why you are getting a cam position code.

Thanks a lot. I really didn't have time to pull the whole thing down the other day. It's my mothers only vehicle and hopefully I will be able to fix it and it won't cost a whole load of money. Happy Holidays.
