Angry Help, with car alarm

I just bought a used 2001 Kia sportage for the wife. Every time you lock the door either with the key or the door button/plunger and close the door, when you need to get back in the alarm "horn" goes off. There is a sticker on the the window that says "iLock" Never heard of the car alarm and can not find anything about it on the web. Could it be a factory alarm? Can any of you help?

Doing this in a slightly different way….I opened the door, got out, shut the door, locked the door with the key, heard a chirp (alarm must be set).....then tried to get back in by using the key to unlock the door...horn starts blaring. I tried it many times, it does not seem to want to chirp when i unlock the door, it just sets the alarm off.

1. Is this "Ilock" alarm a factory installed alarm? if so i might let the stealer look at it, but not if it is an aftermarket.
2. I have down loaded the owners manual from Kia's web sight, but I did not see any instructions about an alarm
3. I also could not find in the owner’s manual a fuse location for the alarm, does anyone know if I could disable it that way, I do not care at all about having an alarm.
4. My last resort if it is an aftermarket is to cut out the entire alarm box, which I can do, but probable not as easy if it is a factory alarm.

It's only been a few days but we love the car. Other than the damn alarm and the front hub wont lock, but I can fix that easily
I just signed up, glad to be a part of the group.

Thanks
Dan

Default Found the fix

So here is what I did. I fixed the problem.

>Open the car door with the key, set the alarm off.

>Disarmed the alarm with the key in the ignition.

>Pulled the key out,

>Disconnected the positive post from the battery. Let it sit for about a half hour.

>Lock all 4 door buy pushing down on the locks. Then pulled up on all of them, so now they ere all unlocked again.

>After sitting for a half hour, reconnected the positive battery post. Keep the driver door open while doing this.

>Then push down on the door lock while the door is open to lock all the doors.

>Get out, and close the door. The Sportage should NOT give you a conformational 'armed' honk.

>To unlock, put your key in the door, turn left quickly. DO NOT turn the key right or it will arm the anti-theft.

>And whenever you need to lock it, just lock by pushing on the door lock from the inside while the door is open, then shut it. Don't use the key to lock it or the anti-theft will get re-armed.

All is well now. No issues. I want to thank Shaar from Kia-forums for most the door locking/unlocking procedure. I tried just the locking and unlocking procedure but it did not work by it’s self, until I dis-connected the battery. One final thought, if I had just dis-connected the battery with out doing all the locking /unlocking procedure, that may have worked too, but I did not try it.

Thanks to everyone who help with this. I also hopes this will help others with the same issues.
