Default Windshield wiper linkage

I have a 2000 Kia Sportage. Wipers failed me in first major rain in about a month. I can hear the wiper motor running, but it seems the connecting linkage is shot. I can manually move wiper by hand & both wipers are still connected to each other, but motor isn't making connection to them. Is this a repair I can attempt myself, or is this best left to the repair shop?-estimate cost? Thanks!

First you need to find where the linkage is disconnected. Sometimes you can pop it back on or replace the part available from KIA.

Where do I start? Do I try pulling the motor assembly, or is there an easier way to get at & examine the linkage?

Angry Would also be interested

I would also be interested to know this, I'm having what seems to be the same problem. Namely, the motor is loose in its connection with the frame, and so it's not generating enough torque to complete the wiper stroke. I can't access the screws needed to tighten it. Although, it may be the above mentioned problem, too . I just need to know if it's best to remove the whole thing to fix the problem, or not. Thanks!

Well it is there, I have it opened in a second window atm!

Look under:
Body Electrical System
===>Windshield wiper/washer
=====>Front Wiper motor
========>Repair Procedures

Maybe instead of asking here you should have looked harder?
