Default Replacing clutch...my story. (96 Sporty)

Well, the story is only half finished. It started about a month ago with a metallic grinding noise when depressing the clutch. It started soft, but noticable, and kept getting louder. I planned on replacing my clutch, and as I was pulling it into my garage to do so, the whole thing died. Good timing.

So thanks to Eugene a long time ago, I had the manual and started working on it last Saturday. Got almost everything unhooked to drop the tranny that day. Found the slip yolk casing had rusted through on my front drive shaft, rusting it in place. Went to the salvage yard and bought one for $60. The clutch was $120, so a total of less than $200 so far isn't too bad.

Today worked for about three hours and got the final wires pulled, the linkage taken apart, and the tranny finally dropped. It wasn't the clutch after all, but the berring was completely destroyed. Not a worry...still replacing the whole thing.

Called around today a bit to find a place to turn my flywheel. Will take it in this week, and hopefully will have the Sporty up and running again by this time next week.

Any helpful hints or input would be appreciated.
