Hey all, new here, how ya doin?
I have a 1997 Sportage which aside from the usual car maintenace stuff has been a great car since I bought it 7 years ago.
It has decided to stop 'listening' to the (two button style, KIA issued) keyfob for both locking and unlocking. I have replaced the battery (in both my keyfobs I got with the car) a NUMBER of times... It neither locks or unlocks so basically Im using the key in the driver door to unlock all four doors.
LUCKILY (I mean REALLY lucky) it is still letting me start so it also seems like the same thing which controls the central remote locking has also disabled the immobiliser.
Any ideas of what controls the part that 'listens' to the keyfob. (sorry for lack of techy car terms!). I have a toddler and I miss the luxury of locking the car remotely with toddler and added periferals that go with him keeping my hands full.
Thanks in advance
