Kia Sportage 2.0 TDI 07/2000 Engine does not start
Post1: Hi there I'm a Bulgarien and we bought last week KIA Sportage 2000cc TDI. The problem is that a friend of ours brought the car from Austria and it had a problem - the engine didn't start. Austrians said that the problem was in the fuel pump,so we thought that the problem wasn't so serious and risked buying it. We own the car for a week now and we tried everything. Friends tell us that the problem is in the immobilizer or something in the computer, because we inspected the fuel pump and there was no problem in it. It just does not start. We called our kia services and they told us that they had similar cars and couldn't guarantee that they can help. So my question is - has anyone had similar problems and maybe it is something very small but we just don't know what it is. And could it be fixed?
P.S. I read a couple of posts and I want to know if it's a relay where can I find it in the car and it says that there are 2 relays so where are they? PLease HELP!
Post2: Well, the starter cranks but there is no firing up, not at all. The fuel ends to the fuel pump, but from there it isn't going to the engine. About the relays our kia is TDI and it has only one relay and it works. The timing belt has been replaced before 40000km and if the problem is in it it will probably try to start but will not make it. The fuel pump is electrical but it has no electricity going to it. And that's why she's not working. What can be the problem (something electrical)? Any other ideas?
In these 2 posts I have described everything I could think of...Now is your turn - HELP!
