Default Oil Leak Question

How common is it for the rear mail seal to go bad on the Sportage engine? I have a motor with around 100K on it and this seal may be the source of it. Just wanted to see what kind of replacement history the forum has seen on this seal.

It's more common for the oil seal on the filter assembly to go bad, the oil tends to find it's way to the rear of the engine.

Has anyone figured out what kind of 0-ring can be used to stop the leak at the oil filter assembly? If I remember correctly, Kia won't sell you the o-ring. You have to buy the whole oil filter assembly just to get a new o-ring.

The O ring is available by itself. Just order one up.
