Default Lifting The Sportage

OK, I have searched every page of every forum I can find but still can't seem to find a suitable answer to lifting my sportage, maybe because I am in Australia and you can get nothing here I dunno. Over here we can get a 35mm lift easily but thats about it. I can get Ironman 70mm lifted springs but no-one in the world seems to make shocks longer then stock to suit these springs. So my question is what is everyone doing to get more then the run of the mill 30-35mm lift???

Edit - Another option was to fit the ironman 70mm lifted springs with stock shocks but I was worried about topping them out just want to know if anyone else has done something like that?

Thanks

Damo

You can go 2 inchs with spacers or 4 with a RGS lift on the suspesion, and you can go either 1 3/8 or 3 on the body, although the 3 inch is not very popular as it involves alot of fabbing and is generaly considered unsafe.

Default Sportage lift

I have been looking to get more lift for my Sportage to. Does anyone have the web sites for buying springs, shocks and body lift kits. I do alot of off road but am not a rock climber. I like to search the old ghost and mining towns from the 1800's here in Nevada and the western USA. I did just join the site and if anyone who also 4 wheels from Western US is here please let me know.

Not really any sites etc! You are best joining this fourm 4x4Wire.com's TrailTalk Forums: Viewing forum: Kia Sportage & Sorento Tech There are a couple of guys there that make and sell lifts, and it is also more 4x4 orientated.

The 2 inch spacers do the same thing as the ironman springs, the biggest problem is with the front, you can get longer springs, but not longer struts.

Spacers on all 4 corners will run about $150, or you could spacer the front and re-spring the rear

I have the Ironman Springs fitted.

Everyone you speak to in shops will tell you it cant be done.......

Used KYB standard length strut for the front - fits ok but not much down travel.

Had custom shocks made for the back, just measured the lenghts compressed and extended lengths required. Flexes like a demon

Rides well, especially on corrugated dirt.

Cheers
