Default Oil grade for cooling fan

I now have my Sportage back home after the kia Service people repaired the cooked head. It now runs just fabulous but the fan spins all the time. The service people replaced the oil as they concidered the oil was too thin. What type and what grade of oil should I be useing the drive mechanism for the fan? It makes a lot of noise as it is now, and that to me says it is not efficient in its operation. The car seems to lack power at high revs and is seems slow to get there. All the while the fan is roaring its head off. It never did this before the head was repaired. What oil should be used and how much as in volume?

What year is your sportage? There isn't any item to be serviced on the fan assembly according to the factory manual. It has a bimetal unit that senses the temperature of the radiator and a clutch allows it to stop turning when the vehicle engine speed is high enough. It definately sounds like the fan clutch is not operating propery. If the dealer did something to it and it's not working properly, take it back and ask to have it fixed. I've never heard of replacing any oil in them, could be a new one on me. The shop manual has no recommendation or specification for fan clutch oil. It does appear there maybe oil in the clutch unit, the manual says if it leaks, then replace the unit. Hope that helps.
