Default Blower motor tick-tick-tick...

Hi,
2002 Sportage 4-door.
I have removed the blower motor/fan cage assemble by removing the three mounting screws. I removed a couple tree leaves and piece of paper from fan cage. I checked to make sure there where no leaves or trash up in the duct work. I checked for marks where the fan cage might be rubbing, but found no marks. I can spin the fan freely with my hand and the fan spins smoothly. I did not remove the cage from the motor.

I re-installed the fan and still have a tick-tick-tick sound that ticks faster/slower as the blower speed is changed.

Any ideas what to look for next?
Do I need a new fan?
Does any one have a good blower motor laying around? (Send PM)Thank you,

Hi,
More info.
I bought and installed a used blower motor. I still have tick-tick-tick...

Is there anything known in the duct work that may vibrate and sound like the blower ticking?

Thank you,
Jack

I had the same problem with my 01, maple keys. Run your hand around inside in case you missed something. I had my OEM motor rebuilt and waterproofed. Water is getting into but not out of the air plenum. It took me a while to figure out why the passenger side carpet was always wet. Then one day saw water dripping off the blower motor.

My fan did the same thing on my 2001 Sportage 4WD. I grabbed the base of the motor and just gave it a nudge left and right and the noise stopped. The noise will restart appx evey 500 miles and I just grab it and nudge it and it goes away again.
