here's my problem...

about a month ago, the check engine light came on in my '01 Sportage.

i took it to Auto Zone and they pulled the code. it was P0128, referencing the coolant temperature.

i replaced the thermostat, which did not help....so i replaced the Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor, thinking that would do the trick.

no such luck. it came on again today.

any ideas on where i should go from here? (other than my nearest Kia Service department?)

Make sury you replace the correct sensor. You do not need to replace the one for the temp guage. I have seen that happen before. Check to make sure you replaced the correct sensor.
