Exclamation need help!!asap massive oil leak 99 2.0

Im trying to repair girlfriends 99 sportage ,has huge oil leak from under oil filter cooler housing, what the heck could be wrong??she needs car for school on monday any bit of help would be greatly appreciated, thnx

A littlw more info would be nice! under the oil filter cooler can be alot of things.

If you just changed the filter there is a chance the old o-ring was left behind causing the new filter to feel snug but with a massive gap, hense massive oil leek.

Also you could have cross threaded the oil filter, again making it feel snug but not sitting correctly.

You could have a crak in one of the cooler lines.

You could have a leak in the actual cooler it's self.

For both of the above you can bypass the cooler for now with a good lenghth of hose if you must.

There are a dozen other things it might be, like the valve cover gasket etc!
