Wink Changing my starter motor !!!

Ok Guys ,

Easy or difficult??? Have just bought a new one as mine has gone . £58 mmm not too expensive. Just had a quick look under the car and it looks a bit tight around the starter motor area.

The original has become tempremental as sometimes it engages and sometimes you can just hear the motor spinning ( not engaged ) . I take it the solenoid has gone / going.

thoughts please.

If you can hear the starter motor turn over but not engage with the fly wheel it may be somthing as simple as the drive pinion not extending, a tempoary fix would be to hit it with a rubber hammer to see if that will jar it loose, somtimes they get stuck. But you will most likely have to change out the starter.

There is a good step by step procedure here Global Service Way You might have to register etc! all free. it is an online manual.
