Default vaccum line into the wheel well?

I just replaced the vaccum lines on the front wheels that I have NO clue what they do. I kinda just replaced them because they were starting to fall apart and, were basically not working at all anyways. Since I replaced the lines The driver side wheel makes some frightening noises. It really scared the shit out of me but when my wife suggested i disconnect the hose, the awful sound stopped. I need some help as soon as possible.

it sounds like the vaccum hub has to be replaced. Take a look at this thread http://www.kia-forums.com/1g-1994-20...here-sell.html

Is it alright to drive without the vacuum lines attached? If so how long?

yes you can drive it but you will have no 4 wheel drive. I would also check the bearings in those front wheels.
