get a new friend....he was just about to cost you several hundred dollars and about a days work to
not actually fix the problem. If you can get the code in its Pxxxx format and post it here, we will be able to give you a better idea of what is causing the problem straight from the horses' (ECU) mouth.
FWIW the engine will misfire on ALL cylinders if the belt jumps a cog. The fact that it only occurs on one cylinder EXCLUDES the belt.
