Do Spotages hold up well as the mileage goes up as time goes on? I have a 2006 Sportage and have had it since November and I already have a little over 10,000 miles on it and summer travel plans have yet to happen. I had a 1985 240 DL Volvo, and when I sold it it had around 220,000 miles on it when I sold it. Can I expect something similar or something below?

Thanks.

if you keep up on maintence i.e regular oil changes, filter changes, plug changes and air pressure check on the tires. it will hold up fine over time.

other thing you can do to increase milage is ad a k&n air filter thus increasing breathing and performanmce and milage. and switch to synthetic oil. also driving habits will affect milage. as well as where and when you buy gas.

Sorry for the confusion, but I meant the high mileage of a vehicle. Will it last to about 200,000 miles? How high are the miles of 1st generation sportages on this forum?

You can't really compare the first generation Sportage with the new models for many reasons in my humble opinion. Engines and transmissions are far more refined in the newer models to begin with. Quality of build has improved light years over the earlier Kia. It will take probably five years before we will know exactly how well the new Sportage will hold up but I'm begging very well if the car is maintained properly. Just my two cents.

I have a 1996 Kia Sportage and it has 140,000 miles on it!

Having a couple of problems right now similar to others of that year, but I love this SUV.
