I hope I can get some help with my problem... My mechanic is at a loss. My Sportage will not start right away when I turn the key. The starter is working but it just seems like it isn't getting gas or a spark. After several attempts (and frustrating minutes) it will start. Sometimes it will act like it is going to start but then nothing. It has also died on me while slowing at a stop sign. The problem is that I have replaced the fuel pump, filter and screen and it is still acting (according to my mechanic) like it is a fuel pump issue or may be a cam sensor. Today I had it start rough and the check engine light came on and the hold light is flashing. If anyone has any ideas for me or my mechanic I would greatly appreciate it.

Try checking Your Temp sensors. I had a similar problem the car used to cut out and not start again. Ended up as a faulty heat temp sensor.

Thanks for the input. It has only died on me once since I had the fuel pump replaced. I can always get it to start, it just takes awhile.

Hi, i have a trouble similar, since e few weeks. But i think i solve the problem.
I clean the contacs (with a 400 grit sandpaper) of the relay feeding the ECM and the fuel pump relay. They are in the fuse and relay box in engine compartment.

My wife drive the véhicule each day and since that it start at each time ( 4 and more times a day) I did that last week-end and waiting to see......finger cross
