I have a '99' Sporty and haven't changed out the hubs yet. My wife came home yesterday and told me there was a zzzzzzzzzzzz-click sound coming form the front of the car. I took it for a ride and sure enough the sound is as she said, zzzzzz-click. OK, I have a hunch I know what it is but would like a second opinion. To me it sounds like the right front hub is trying to engage(without me asking it to). It only does it in high gear with light throttle pressure, when I throw it in neutral it still makes the sound, brakes, still has the sound, throw it in 4H and then out and the sound stops. I can feel nothing, just hear it. Does anyone else have an idea? Will changing to lockers fix it? Is WARN the only company who makes after market locking hubs for this car?
