No Sound In 2000 Sportage

I have a 2000 Kia Sportage. I was driving along a couple of day ago and the sound stopped coming from the speakers. At first I thought it was dead air from the radio station. I changed stations and still had no sound. I got another stereo and installed it and still have no sound from the speakers. I checked all the fuses and they were good. Any Ideas. Also something else strange that may be a factor or not my A/C and alarm are also not working. I don't know if they have a common link.

DO U HAVE AN AMP HOOKED UP....JUST THROWING OUT SUGGESTIONS...BUT IF U DO UR WIRES MAY NOT BE FULLY CONNECTED OR LOOSE SOME WHERE OR EVEN TOUCHING(LIVE)...I HAD THAT PROBLEM AND HAD TO REWIRE EVERYTHING AND AS FOR THE AIR AND ALL IM LOST NOT UNLESS ALL THE WIRES TOUCHED EACHOTHER SOME HOW OR ANOTHER.

I didn't install an amp unless one was installed in the factory. The A/C had a couple of valves cracked and leaked the freon out.
