HELLO JUST RECENTLY REPLACED THE TIMING BELT AND THE CAR IS RUNNING GREAT BUT DOESN'T REALLY HAVE PICK UP...NOW I'VE DRIVEN PLENTY OF CARS EVEN BUCKETS THAT HAD MORE PICK UP THAN THIS THING...COULD ANYTHING BE CAUSING THIS THAT I'M UNAWARE OF?

Did you do this timing belt yourself? If not take it back to who did. If you changed the belt, recheck your valve timing. You are most likely one tooth back (retarded) on the cam gear. Also re-check the tension on your timing belt. There are deflection specs in the manual, but usually 1/4 of a turn on the mid right side(longest) part of the belt is sufficient. Usually this problem you talk about is a result of improper valve timing, or an improprly tensioned belt slipping a tooth or two.

YES...REPLACED IT OURSELVES WITH THE HELP OF SOME KNOWLEGABLE PPL ON HERE...BUT THE CAR WAS RUNNING BETTER THAT IT DID BEFORE THE BELT BROKE ITS JUST NOW ITS RUNNING SLOWER THE LAST COUPLE OF DAYS...KINDA RETARDED IT U ASK ME...FASTER THE FIRST COUPLE OF DAYS AND NOW SLOWER...IM THINKIN MAYBE I NEED ANOTHER TUNE UP SINCE THE LAST ONE I DID WAS BOUT A YR AGO.

When the belt broke, you could have possibly bent a valve. You might want to check that out.

Yes, it's a non interference engine. How do I know? Guess who had his timing belt break a week before Christmas. Lousy scheduling ...
