Hey everyone! This a great site with lots of good information. I've gotten alot of help without many posts myself just by reading replies given to others. Many thanks goes out to everyone that replies to a post with some good advice.

I have a 2001 sportage EX that Im having troubles with the blower fan. The heat, A/C and defroster all turn on when put the fan switch on 1, but it doesnt matter what other number I turn the fan speed to, none of them work. Today coming home from picking the wife up, she turned the fan on 4, forgetting that it didnt work, and then there was this plastic burning (??) smell until I turned the fan off, and then it went away. If I've read and understood previous posts correctly, the blower fan is under the dash, inside the vehicle, and there is also a resistor (??) mounted next to it, that sometimes could be the culprit? Anyone else have a similar experience that I could learn from? Again, many thanks!
