I read a few of your posts, and I'm surprised the mods didn't bug you for cross posting (trolling), as they seem to love doing that here. When you replaced the belt, did you replace the tensioner also? Tensioner pulley bearings often tend to go bad about as frequently as belts do. I have yet to ever do a timing belt on a Korean car without replacing every tensioner/idler/ water pump drive pullley, cuz its cheaper to do that when you already have it all apart. Plain fact, Korean car parts dont last near as long as Jap/German ones. Were there instructions for proper belt tensioner adjustment? A tightly adjusted timing belt will cause a whine. The running rough and then running fine sounds like a fuel delivery/pressure issue. Whats causing that issue can be a multitude of things, from intermittent sensors/wiring, to disconnected vacuum lines (one point you mentioned a hard brake pedal). Bad fuel pump can lead to the same thing. Did you miss anything when you put everything back together? I strongly suggest you take your vehicle to a good driveability shop and quit trying to do it all yourself. Any good shop will take the time to listen to your concerns, and repair accordingly. Sometimes that ends up being a more economical approach in the end. Keep driving/ starting it, and see if you can make the rough running thing happen more often, so you'll be able to show it to the shop. By then, if theyre any good, they should have your problem figured out within 2 hours of diagnostic time.
