It is long story of my Sephia but I will make it short. Recently I changed the transmission. After this change it started with rough idling and stalling sudden acceleration when idling and also when driving. I checked the codes again it gave me the malfunction circuit of MAF. My mechanic said that change the MAF sensor. So I got the MAF from the junk yard. First it seems that it works but after few miles it started again. Now it gave me the codes for MAF and TPS. The mor I drive more codes are coming I thought may be because of the MAF it is making all the sensors crazy. Sometimes it seems that when I try to accelerate it is dying. So one day I spray WD-40 on the acceleration cable wire and the throttle(I don't know what it is called, when you moved it accelerate). It changed and it become normal, picking up normal, speeding up normal but after a while it start acting same, one more spray of WD-40 back to normal. What is going on? Anybody any idea? Also anybody know how to test MAF?

check the air intake tube from the maf to the throttle body for any cracks, if it is cracked it will cause it to suck air and not register it through the maf causing all kinds of driveability problems, also on the top of the transmission there is a ground, check that ground to see if it is tight, also the maf shares the same ground as the ecm, the ground is G100 and is located on the left side below the Instrument panel the picture is not the best but might help, the other way of doing this is to tap into the black/yellow wire at the maf and run it to ground, doing this will enhance the ground to the sensor as well as other sensors and the ecm, just strip the wire and solder, do not cut the wire,

Thank you very much. I connect a new wire from the MAF sensor(Black/yellow) to Ground. I taped the intake hose, if any leak but acting same. I try to call the dealer to find the intake hose. The codes coming is for MAF circuit performance and throttle pedal position. Any more ideas?

Every time I lubricate the throttle it runs fine but after a while it acts the same so I tighten the trottle wire and lubricate. It feels that problem is solved and no codes but the same after running some miles. I don't know what to do. I called the dealer and he is asking for $124 for diagnositic. Please help me

i would check for play in the shaft that holds the throttle plate, it might be sucking air past the bushing causing a lean condition, if this bushing is worn out then the throttle body must be replaced, how long does it run ok after you lube the throttle? it sounds like maybe the lube that you are using might be stopping the leak at the bushing.

Sometimes it runs for 5-10 minutes and start acting but recently when adjusted the cable it improved. Whenever it acted like, I put it in park give a good throttle and back to normal. Do you think it is possible to clean throttle or it will mess up the adjustment?

there is no way to take out the throttle plate, just get some carb clean and spray the throttle body and throttle plate then open the throttle and spray the back of the plate, that is about the extent of cleaning that can be done
