Hello everyone.Im new to this site and hope someone can help me.
Ive got a 2000 Kia sportage and can not get it to start and run.It will start if you take the fuel pump relay out.It starts and ideals at about two to three hundred RPM and dies usally with in about 20 seconds. If you put the relay back in it,it usally wont start at all.Acts like it flooded or something. Also the hold light is flashing on it and i have no clue what that is for.
I have done some welding on it putting a inner fender and core support on it where it was wrecked.I had the battery out of it but a guy told me that it could have fried the computer.I took it out and opened it up and could find nothing that looked like it was burnt up in it.But i suppose it still could be.Does this sound like a strong possiblity to anyone else out there?
Also i do think it needs a oil pump.I have heard that some wont start if they have low oil pressure.I have had it running before and it would start and run fine just after a few minutes it would start tapping and the oil light would come on.So i dont see how that would make a diffrence on it starting right now.All i know is i put it in the garage on day went to start it the next and it just wont start.
Thanks to anyone and everyone who takes the time to read this and respond .

Thanks for answering the post.I also thought of that but it was wrecked months ago and i drove it since then.It just jumped out of gear and rolled over a hill into a tree.I also unhooked the gas line and it is getting gas.I can not hear the pump kick on when i turn the key over though, but once it starts for its few seconds it has gas coming though.Any more suggestons? Thanks again.
