Just change the cylinder head, so they probably took out the whole engine and "forgot" to adjust the transmission cable or something like that.

Sometimes the overdrive kick in, and sometimes not.
Before the change of the cylinder head, I had no problem with the transmission.

So, can anyone help me explain where to adjust this problem, I guess that it's not that difficult. (Hope so anyway)
I live in thailand, and the workshops for KIA are very very rare...

My mechanic lives in Bangkok, and I don't want to drive there if I don't have to.
So some help would be perfect.

Thanks from a sunny Thailand.

Best regards

Hi Michael,

There are several very good people in this forum, and I am sure one of them will be able to assist with information on your overdrive problem.

There is a fellow that I have briefly chatted with on and off this forum who indicates he has a very good mechanic who does the work on his Sportage in Pattaya. (That Sportage owner has a condo in Hat Jomtien.) A good Sportage mechanic in Pattaya might be useful to you as he is a lot closer to you than Bangkok. I will contact the fellow I chatted with and ask him to give me the contact details. I will message you on this forum when I get the contact details. Best of luck.

Kindest Regards,

Bob Tucker

Dear Bob.

thanks for answer my question so quickly.
And if you could get a hold on that guy in Jomtien, Pattaya I would be very grateful.
I live only 45 klicks from Pattaya, in Bangsaen.

cheers

Good Morning Michael,

I get up ~ 5:30, so - depending on whether I have had a cup of coffee - I can be counted on to be coherent by 6:00. I will look forward to hearing from you today. I have not heard from John as yet. I will send another email as I now need to see this mechanic myself as my car has decided to play Song Kran! The water from the air conditioning is being dumped on the feet of the front seat passenger.

Kindest Regards,

Bob Tucker
