I have a 1995 Sportage 2.2 Diesel. I want to change the radio cassette unit, and put a single DIN unit with CD. What do I have to do to remove the original unit?? Does it have screws? Do I have to remove somethig before?? Thank you in advance

Hi adolchaves

Yes, it has a lot of screws. You have to remove the console then remove the bezel that is around the radio and a/c vents. The console has two screws between the seats at bottom and two on each side at its front. Then if yours is a 5 spd. remove the shifter knob by putting a wrench on the set nut and unscrew the knob with your hand. There are two screws at the back of the shifter section of the console and two in from on the sides. So now you should have the console out in two pieces. All of that to be able to remove the bezel! There is a screw or two behind the ashtray at the bottom and unclip the lead to the cigarette lighter and it should be ready to snap out. Be gentle and be sure you removed all the fasteners. There are four screws on the front of the head unit and the storage slot and a couple on the sides, you will have to get in there and pin point them. When you start to pull it out you will have to remove the antenna jack and unclip the harness.

I hope that helps. Let me us know how it goes.
