Today i got my 1997 sportage washed inside out. After cleaning the engine, my car start for a while and suddenly it dies. Now, every time i start the car, it was sloppy and i have to press the fuel pedal for few seconds and the car will run fine after that. What happend? What should i do?

Thanks...

You got water under the center plastic cover which has shorted out the ignition system. Let it dry out and you should be OK.

While your in there you might as well, its not very easy to get to and it may take a special tool to get it out but its only about 8 dollars and it does so much for your engine. You might as well change it while youve got it apart, especially if you are unsure of when it was last changed. My sportage had the fuel lines cut and different lines put in so mine are held on with high pressure clamps, which I really dont like but right now I dont have the money or time to get the fuel lines replaced...
