I have that SAME problem on my sportage and dont worry, its nothing you cant live with because its an inherent problem all late model sportages have. What that code is basically telling you is that your leaking fuel vapors somewhere, when in actuality you arent. Kia made a poorly designed filler neck that leaks fuel vapors up the neck and down the vent tube and all around, therefore, the ECM thinks your leaking fuel when your really not. Ive been driving for quite sometime with that light on and never had any problems. The Kia dealership said it was probably the gas cap, so I replaced that, didnt help. Then Ive heard from many sources that the problem with the filler neck, was big on those 98 - 02 Kia's So no worries... you can get it fixed if you want but you really dont have to, its not something that can do any damage.

Maybe it will not do any damage, but I have to go to Emission Test these days and I cannot solve the problem. I replaced the cap myself, then the guys from AutoZone told me about the pressure senzors from the tank, then some other service guys have shown me 2 sensors under the hood ! which one should I trust, because replacing the sensors will cost me almost $500 ! it's not a joke, to say to a customer a quick and uncertain diagnosis !

any ideas for a true troubleshooting please ?
