guys hello.I found a web claiming that a spacer above coil spring is the way to go for sportage.I wonder how thick spacer max can the stock shock take?I heard
it can go up to 4"-is it true? And do i have to remove the stabiliser bar complitely?
And if i combine it with body lift-how toll body lift can i install without need to extend the steering shaft?I would like to place a 32 inch tires. How much total lift i
need?Thanks for all advise.

Breath easy and take baby steps with that kind of suspension work... lol. I have seen many Sportages with 4 inch lifts that use the stock shocks, though its not a good idea. Many of them look good with 2 inch lifts believe it or not, the sportage doesnt really have the wheelbase to go too high before becoming top heavy. You may look into getting a set of rancho or kyb shocks that are specifically designed for higher sitting vehicles. As for the tires, the stock tire size for the sportage is 27 inches I believe, so a 5 inch jump is alot, but not impossible. Though you may be looking at different rims because I dont think they make 32 inch tires that will fit on a 15 inch rim. And if they do, they are liable to have too much sidewall which will increase tire-roll and be potentially dangerous when turning quickly. As well as be easier to damage...

And actually, now that I think about it. I have seen many people use a simple coil spring lift kit, its like... 400 dollars and comes with the springs, shocks, and new stabilizer bars though I cant remember for the life of me what its called but I do know that there are alot of places out there that sell lift kits and suspension mods for the sportage. So no worries, its not hard to find lift kits for them... just performance parts outside of a K&N filter and spark plugs

2" body lift, 2.5" spring lift, 31x10.5R15 Simex MT Centipede tyres.

No front sway bar, no spacers. Needed cutting of the rear of the front guard and slightly longer upper links in the rear (pinion angle causing vibes on overrun)

Soon to be a bit more radical......

Damkia,

To lift the suspension did you use a kit?

If so which oneand did you use extended or standard shocks,

I have tried to locate a kit in the UK but have failed so far!
