i drive a 1997 kia sportage. yesterday i tried to clean my IAC and check all my connectors to the sensors. I'v notice that the sensor next to the fuel filter is unplugged so i plug it. Then, i tried to start my car but it won't start. I unplugged the connector and my car start's fine but with a rough idle just like before. I've notice that the connectors has corroded on both end so i clean it up and plug it back. Now my car running fine with no more rough idle. So next time if your car have a rough idle problem, try check the connectors of IAC, MAF and the sensor next to the fuel filter.

Thanks...

P/s : Sorry... i dont know what's the name of the sensor.

Hi there it,s a known problem with the Sportage the connectors
build up a resistance and you either have to clean them up and
recrimp or fit new connectors, if you go back through the forum
you will find a page written by Axeman, he soldered the connectors
directley on to the sensors and had no further problems, but like
the man says you need to know how to use a soldering iron.
hope this helps.
